A dream to serve Livingston County...

Pastors Eric & Erica Giesow grew up in Brighton, MI, and always dreamed of returning to their hometown to build a life-giving church to serve the people of Livingston County - the people and the place so deep in their heart. They always sensed one day that God would lead them back but did not know how.

In January of 2017, dream and reality collided as God made it very clear and apparent to Eric & Erica as well as their Senior Pastors at the time that God was the one that put the dream of Alive in Eric & Erica's heart. God confirmed His calling, and Alive Family Church was conceived.

In the Summer of 2017, the Giesow's returned home to Brighton, and God began to assemble a launch team,  an amazing group of 34 adults (and 17 kids!) committed to seeing this dream of God's become a reality.

On September 24th, 2017 Alive Family Church held its Grand Opening service at Scranton Middle School in Brighton, MI. Then, three years later, on October 18th, 2020 (after 30 Sundays of online church & home gatherings due to Covid-19), Alive opened the doors to its first permanent location at 5202 E. Highland Road, Howell, MI. Then, summer 2022, Alive purchased its first building to own in Brighton, MI (Hyne/ Old US 23). And during Easter season 2023, Alive had Grand Opening services at our new building in Brighton and is continuing to grow.

Over the years, we have been committed to being a friendly gathering where people get to know Jesus. Our Sunday morning services are intentionally relational, heartfelt, casual, modern, and anointed so that everyone, regardless of their experience with God, leave changed.

We have also been committed to being a loving church family that gathers in small groups (we call the Crews), that prays together (intentionally every Jan. & Aug. during 21 days of prayer), does Bible studies together (through Crews and Basics Crash Courses), and lovingly serves one other in life’s great joys & pains.

And, lastly we are committed to being a passionate movement of empowered believers that serve our generation well. We are known in the community for hosting community events like Popsicles at the Pond, Candy Cane Lane, and Christmas Express Experience. We also take every opportunity we have to serve to our local, national, and global world through weekly food pantry donations, toy giveaways at Christmas, missions givings, and outreach of various kinds.

It has been incredible to watch this move of God unfold as hundreds of individuals & families are making steps to know God personally and live for Him passionately… and we are just getting started!

The best is yet to come.
